Dozens of fighters were killed in overnight border clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, both sides said on Sunday, in the most serious fighting

Pakistan's foreign ministry said a 48-hour ceasefire has been agreed to by the two countries after fresh clashes along border killed dozens of civilians and troops and also led to Pak striking Afghani province of Kandahar.

In a significant step, India on Tuesday restored the status of its Technical Mission in Kabul to that of an Embassy with immediate effect. Ministry of External Affairs said in a release that the decision underscores India's resolve to deepen its bilateral engagement with the Afghan side in all spheres of mutual interest.

The remains of three Israelis abducted during Hamas’s October 2023 attacks have been identified, the prime minister’s office said.
