Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said the US central bank should continue cutting interest rates at its next meeting in December, citing the risk of a continued slowdown in hiring.

Kansas City Federal Reserve President Jeff Schmid said he dissented against the central bank's vote on Wednesday to cut a key U.S. interest rate because inflation is "still too high."

The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index rose as much as 0.4%, its biggest advance since Oct. 9 as his comments pushed bond yields higher.
